Increase image resolution

Increase the resolution of an image with AI: double the pixels and keep it sharp. Free, private, no sign-up.

In your browser

In Firefox, this tool always runs on your computer’s processor, which is slower: a medium-size photo can take a minute or more. Chrome and Edge can use your graphics card and are much faster.

About this tool

Need a bigger version of a picture for print or a website? Double its resolution with AI, which keeps edges crisp where normal resizing makes them soft.

How to use it

  1. 1 Choose 2× or 4×.
  2. 2 Pick an image.
  3. 3 Compare before and after, then download the PNG.

Questions

2× or 4×?

Use 2× for screenshots, graphics and images that are only slightly too small. Use 4× for small or low-quality photos.

Why is my image reduced first?

The AI works in small tiles, so time grows quickly with size. Images over 1024 px (2×) or 512 px (4×) are reduced first to keep it to seconds rather than minutes.

How long does it take?

A few seconds with a graphics card. Without one it can take a minute or more, and the first run also downloads the model (8 to 54 MB).

Is my data uploaded?

No. This tool runs in your browser, so your text and files never reach our server.

Is this tool free?

Yes. It’s free to use with no sign-up and no limits for normal use.
