About this tool

Portals and email often reject PDFs over 1, 2 or 5 MB. Strong compression redraws each page at 100 dpi, which usually brings scanned documents well under those limits while keeping them readable.

How to use it

  1. 1 Choose a PDF.
  2. 2 Pick Lossless, Balanced or Strong.
  3. 3 Select Compress PDF and download the smaller file.

Questions

Which level should I choose?

Try Balanced first. Use Lossless for documents with lots of selectable text, and Strong when you need the smallest file for an upload limit.

Will the text still be selectable?

With Lossless, yes. Balanced and Strong turn each page into an image, so the text can’t be selected or searched afterwards.

Is it safe for confidential documents?

Yes. The PDF is compressed in your browser and never uploaded to our server.

Is my data uploaded?

No. This tool runs in your browser, so your text and files never reach our server.

Is this tool free?

Yes. It’s free to use with no sign-up and no limits for normal use.
