Questions

How can I get better results?

Use a sharp, well-lit image where the text is straight and fills most of the picture. Choosing the right language matters a lot.

Can it read handwriting?

Neat handwriting sometimes works, but it’s designed for printed and typed text.

Why does the first image take longer?

Your browser downloads the recognition engine and the language data once (a few MB), then keeps them for next time.

Is my data uploaded?

No. This tool runs in your browser, so your text and files never reach our server.

Is this tool free?

Yes. It’s free to use with no sign-up and no limits for normal use.
